  1. Could you share the screen details ?
Also which connector/cable are you using to connect it to beagle board ?

  2. Please, can you share the Model Number of the NEC and Litemax panels.

  3. I tried Litemax DLF-1055 and NEC NL10276BC20-18.
Both of them are for industrial use, and are pretty expensive. But any other LVDS LCD panel should work as well - just check that it supports 24 bits color.

As to connectors - I made them myself. Just bought mate connectors following LCD datasheet, and used twisted pairs cable. You can also search for ready cables (at least, with LCD side installed).

  4. will this work with a beagleboard rev c3 or c4?? It is just a matter of mounting on the top of the board and flipping the connectors?

  5. Hi
Does it work with beagleboard XM too.

  6. Hello SijiSunny,

Yes, it definitely works with BB-xM. I used BB-xM with connected LVDS add-on board to make above photos.

  9. Hi,
I'm quite new to LCDs ...
I checked several vendors and the cheapest ones I found have 40 pins LVDS connectors. For example the following display takes a bit more than the LVDS signal (EDID clock/signal/V) : http://www.beyondinfinite.com/lcd/Library/Chimei/N089L6-L02.pdf
I wonder if it would work with your board and leaving the EDID related pins unconnected.
Thanks for your advice, if you can...

    Regards
    Gad

  10. Hello Gilles,

I checked datasheet - you can pull down CLKedid and DATAedid signals with our MOD1-MOD2 lines (install R5 and R6 resistors). These lines are not required for LVDS board, but it is always better to pull down unused control pins.

  12. Hi,

Does the board support touch screen? If I buy on the weekend, will it ship on Monday?

    Regards
    Mark.

  13. Hello BeagleBoard

One month ago, we bought a "Assembled and tested PCB board" and It didnt arrive yet!
We would like to know if It is inside the limit date to complete the delivery.

    Thanks in advance!

  14. Hello Teddy,

It will work with 24-bit panel for sure. Theoretically, it should also work with 18-bit panels. We ordered couple LCD panels to make tests, and I will post result after tests.

  15. Hello Abeng,

You need additional board for touchscreen. LVDS is used only for high-speed interface from OMAP to LCD panel (one direction). Most IC for touchscreen use I2C or SPI for data transfer. For example, look here for touchscreen IC: http://focus.ti.com/paramsearch/docs/parametricsearch.tsp?family=analog&familyId=636

For shipping - yes, we will send on Monday (starting from June 6) if you order on weekend. We ship once per week because most orders comes with standard posts, and we have to go by our own to post office for shipping out.

  19. Hi there,
Any idea when your LCD will hit the shop? I also have FPC LCDs that I'd like to put to good use. Else, do you maybe know of a BB-Mx I/F board that will handle an FPC display? Thanks ...

  20. Hi,
I have not received my order bought on May 18, ALso sent email with no response.

    Thanks

  21. Hello Cineas,

I checked our database - your order has been shipped couple weeks ago. You should receive automatic mail from web-shop system with tracking number of your parcel. Please, send e-mail directly to me (ace.x.ace-at-gmail.com) if you never received such email.

  22. Hello Leon,

We should add 2 types of LCD panels with LVDS cables in 2-3 weeks to our shop.

As to FPC - it is actually just the general name for flat cable, but it can be different type of interface. BB and BB-xM support direct LCD interface with HSYNC and VSYNC signals. In general case, you just need level converters or buffers to connect BB-xM to usual LCD. Direct connection can also work if your LCD can accept 1.8V signals.

  23. hi all,

we check to use BB with LVDS in a new device for our customers. so we bought a LVDS-board, combined it with a BB and connected a NEC NL 8060BG21-02. the explorer was visible but the colors and resolution were creazy: very sharp contrasts and the screen seems to be too little (the angstrom-compass appears in the downer right corner).

so I thought it would be a problem of color-bits (24/18) and connected Pin 4 (FRC) with pin 1 of your LVDS-board to set the panel to 24 bit-mode. but this wasn't a good idea. now the NEC looses the synchronisation from time to time, creazy patterns run over the screen.

    any idea ?

we want to check if BB/LVDS/Angstrom/wxWidgets is a possible and stable base of a new product. it would be very nice to have a combination of display-type and cable-description that works stable without much hacking.

    best regards

    Simon

  24. Hello James,

It can be several reasons for this behavior, like wrong pins connections to LCD or wrong display settings in u-boot environment. Please, send datasheet for your LCD and photo of this "crazy" picture on LCD to my email, I will check what can be wrong.

As to stability of BB+LVDS+Angstrom issue - it is very stable solution. We use BB-xM + Angstrom/Qt + our LVDS board + NEC LCD in harsh industrial application for 10 months already. Around 120 systems have been installed, and no problem at all.
